What we store, why, and how to get rid of it. We follow the Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP) and, for visitors from the EU and EEA, the GDPR.

Updated: 6 September 2026 · Swiss law

The short version

If you only search for a venue, you leave us nothing personal. If you order an alert, you give us an email address. If you want alerts beyond the first free one, you also store a card with our payment provider.

We resell nothing, we show no advertising and we send no newsletter.

Who is responsible

zzd is the controller. Full details are on the imprint page.

If you are only searching

Searching needs no account and nothing from you. We set no advertising cookies, do not track you across other sites and build no profile of you.

Like every web server, ours keeps a technical log (page requested, time, browser type, shortened IP address). It exists for security and operations and is deleted after 30 days. Visits are counted anonymously and without cookies.

If you order an alert

Then we store exactly this:

  • Your email address.
  • Which venue you are watching and, if you narrowed it down, the canton and the period you are interested in.
  • Whether you want to hear about newly published dates, about dates coming free again, or both.
  • A random key for the confirmation and unsubscribe links.
  • When you confirmed your address, and when you unsubscribed, if you did.
  • Which alerts we sent you, so we never send the same one twice and bill correctly.

Confirming your address

After you sign up we send a single email with a confirmation link. Until you click it we send you nothing else. That way nobody can sign up somebody else's address.

Card and payment

Your card details never reach our server. They are collected by Stripe, our payment provider, on Stripe's own pages.

All that stays with us are two references: a customer number at Stripe and an identifier for the stored payment method. That is enough to bill an alert we delivered, without ever seeing your card number or using it anywhere else.

What we send you

Only these three kinds of email:

  • The one-off confirmation of your address.
  • The date alerts you asked for.
  • Receipts for the alerts we charged.

Who else is involved

We pass nothing on, except to the services we need to run this, and to each of them only what it actually needs:

  • Oracle Cloud: the server the site runs on.
  • Neon: the database the watches are stored in.
  • Proton Mail: sending our email.
  • Stripe: storing the card and taking payment.

How long we keep things

  • An unconfirmed watch: 30 days, then it is deleted.
  • An active watch: as long as it runs.
  • After you unsubscribe: 12 months, so we can still look into a complaint.
  • Payment records: 10 years, as Swiss tax law requires.
  • Server logs: 30 days.

Unsubscribing and deletion

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click is enough, we ask no questions and nothing further is charged.

If you also want your details deleted entirely, write to us. We will do it and reply, usually within a few days and at the latest within 30.

Your rights

You can ask at any time for:

  • Access to what we hold about you.
  • A copy of it in a common format.
  • Correction of anything wrong.
  • Deletion, unless a retention duty stops us.
  • A complaint to the FDPIC in Bern or your data-protection authority in the EU.
